Overcoming Anxiety for Wellness

Note: This particular workshop is for BOTH Males and Females
This workshop if for people who may experience the below:
Do you generally worry about little things, or exaggerate your fears?
Do you experience fatigue, nausea, chest pain, stomach aches, or headaches?
Do you experience your heart rate increase without warning?
Do you sometimes feel as if you are going to pass out?
Do you have a constant fear of dying?
Do you panic or experience a shortness of breath?
Are you always scared and fearful?
Do worries consume your thinking?
The workshop is an introduction designed to help understand and overcome anxiety and worries using both modern psychology and Islamic principles and strategies.

Session 3: The Body and Anxiety
Session 4: Identifying Fear Maintaining Thought Patterns
Session 5: Breaking the Cycle of Anxiety and Worry

Facilitator: Hanan Dover is a Forensic Psychologist and Director of http://www.psychcentral.com.au She has completed four psychology degrees at the University of Western Sydney (UWS) and is the UWS Muslim Advisor. She is also the President of Mission of Hope and an Executive Committee member of the Psychology from an Islamic Perspective Interest Group of the Australian Psychological Society and UWS Psychology and Spirituality Society. Internationally, Hanan is on the Executive Committee of the International Association of Muslim Psychologists and an Advisor for the Journal of Muslim Mental Health. Hanan is also the Executive Director of psychCentral Psychological Services and happiness4wellness.com with an interest in positive psychology and spirituality. Hanan has completed the Introductory Diploma of Islamic Legal Theory at Al-Ghazzali Centre for Islamic Sciences and is currently studying the Introductory Diploma of Islamic Sciences.
Hanan's research interests include Islamic religiosity styles, attachment to God, Muslim spirituality, Muslim mental health, emotional wellness and compassion amongst Muslims.
