Improve your Mood Workshop

Techniques for improving your mood for better health and well-being

This workshop is for anyone interested in:

- learning how to improve their mood and vitality
- meet new people and take action in their emotional life.

It is based on the idea that spiritual vitality is the key to improving one's mood and vitality. The workshop will take a practical look at ways to achieve this.

Useful strategies and concepts are drawn from work in areas of mood management, cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology, health, relaxation, and Islamic conceptual understanding of good mental health and well-being.

Facilitator: Hanan Dover is a Forensic Psychologist and Director of http://www.psychcentral.com.au She has completed four psychology degrees at the University of Western Sydney (UWS) and is the UWS Muslim Advisor. She is also the President of Mission of Hope and the Convenor of the Psychology from an Islamic Perspective Interest Group of the Australian Psychological Society. Internationally, Hanan is on the Executive Committee of the International Association of Muslim Psychologists and an Advisor for the Journal of Muslim Mental Health. Hanan is also the Executive Director of PsychCentral Psychological Services and happiness4wellness.com with an interest in positive psychology and spirituality. Hanan is currently completing the Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution at the Institute of Family Practice.

Hanan has completed the Introductory Diploma of Islamic Legal Theory and the Introductory Diploma of Islamic Sciences at Al-Ghazzali Centre for Islamic Sciences and Human Development, and is currently studying the Diploma of Human Nature. Hanan's research interests include Islamic religiosity styles, attachment to God, Muslim spirituality, Muslim mental health, emotional wellness and compassion amongst Muslims.
